A new guild rank system for winning HoH!
I have an idea that I think might be good for HA-based guilds. A new rank system seperate from the gvg one. Every guild's rating would start at 0 and every time they won halls, the rating would increase by 1, 2, 3, 4 etc.
This would be depending on their streak, so if they won it once and held it twice more, the rating would increase by 6 (1+2+3) If they never win it more than once it would only increase by 1 each time.
They could make a seperate ladder also and post on the website.
Now, you might be thinking that some guilds would take advantage of dead hours to increase this rank. So, this rating would only count if your guild went through at least 4-5 maps on their way to HoH. If u skip to HoH from the underworld thats great, u won halls, but this rating wouldnt change at all.
People could then watch guilds with high ranks on this ladder in observer mode.
It would be a bit unfair to guilds who have won halls a lot in the past, but still.
And yeah, you have to have at least 5 guildies on your team (including you), otherwise its considered a pug and nothing changes.
So /signed or /notsigned

WE dont need another Rank system to hinder players from playing.

What do you mean? There are guilds who have low ratings but still do gvg.

its really another pointless ranking system:
people who just started playing have to grind for days or weeks to get to rank 3, to find bad groups quicker to grind to r6 to find bad group quicker to grind to 9 etc etc etc. Another way of ranking people would only cause a guy wth 170 fame to have to grind more, the game isnt designed for grind
So:
/notsigned
Good idea though?

Wow...I love people who don't read...This is a GUILD ranking system, not player IE You can't flash anything...Just like how you have a GvG ranking when you press "G", you will now have an HA ranking
Personally I don't sign because HA is a variable skill, sometimes you will fight IWAY the whole HA run and sometimes you will fight great guilds, atleast GvG you know the skill level you will be getting (unless it's smurf) when you press "Guild Battle"

HA isnt about gvg anyways. You cant compare the two. GvG has the ladder and HA has /rank. Thats the two ranking systems.

This system would be flawed in the exact same way Fame for Rank is currently.
You earn points by winning in the Hall of Heroes for this. For Fame it was winning on any stage.
You earn more points for consecutive wins. Same for fame.
Now let's compare Fame/This idea to the GvG rating system
GvG you get rating points for winning depending on the rating of the opposing team. Whoever looses in GvG looses rating points, this keeps relatively bad teams that could theoriticaly play GvG 12 hours a day from being #1 on the ladder.
GvG you're matched up with opponents of simmilar rating if at all possible. HA is random, infact you can take 4 minutes at the Zashien and have 7 deaths there, then skip to halls.
So for points just winning against any opposition, no matter how horrible in Halls, and never loosing any points for losses, would make this just about as much as a joke as rank is. Just you'd have to be able to get to halls and win, and due to the free for all aspect, even absolutly horrible teams could win.
Also, the restriction of winning on 5 maps previous to halls would really kill it, since a good team could play 4 games and skip to halls, then hold for the next 2 hours. Skips are fairly common, even at peak hours.

The reward for HoH guilds is obvious: they haver their name broadcast when they win halls. Everyone knows the top HoH guilds and groups by reputation. This seems better than any artificial system.

I just realized that there wouldnt even be that many guilds on this ladder at all. And the only real benefit is appearing in observer mode, which might not even be a benefit. LOL. And its hard to imagine anet changing anything about HA.
So yea mod plz delete this thread.
Though I must disagree with some comments.

No matter how often they play, bad guilds wont be winning HOH. That is while theyre bad, if they get better from playing a lot then maybe. Which doesnt make them bad anymore. This is during peak hours.
I dont know how many suggestions in this forum are actually added by anet or even considered, so no point suggesting something like this.

Yeah, I won halls during peak hours with a random group once. We skipped after zashien and got lucky. We barely made it past the zashien too...
The fact is with the randomness of the process to get to halls, randomness of the teams, and the free-for-all aspect, there's no way you can actualy say the better team will always win. They won't.

Regardless of what the box says, Guild Wars is all about play time, not skill. I shows on the ladder (come on, a guild with 300 wins to 150 losses getting rank 13 is just plain stupid). Even hall of heroes requires little skill to win. (if HoH required skill, the same group would hold all day). Why give another rank system that means nothing (same as the rank system we have for players)? Why don't we add a ranking system that reflects on player skill?
I think I achieved my peak skill when I got to rank 6. I am rank 9 now. Thats over 3000 fame more, no extra skill. All the old rank system is is a title for how lucky you get.
On a side note, nerf apostasy iway.
